This workshop is suitable for new or experienced encaustic artists.
In this day-long workshop you’ll explore the creative possibilities of combining a treasure trove of collage and mixed media elements with encaustic wax. Learn how to layer paper and found objects into the rich, textured surface of encaustic wax. Explore colouring, carving, layering, and texturing your encaustic surface with a variety of pigments. Learn encaustic fundamentals like studio set up, safety, tools, techniques, materials and more. Express your inner artist in this fun and supportive environment. Suitable for both beginners and experienced encaustic artists looking to expand their skills.
Class size is limited to 8 students for personalized attention.
Students are encouraged to bring their own photographs, however, photographs are also provided by instructor. All supplies except substrates are provided by instructor.

Accessibility: Elevator available on weekdays 8 am to 3:30 pm. Weekend students are required to climb two flights of stairs. Please advise instructor if accessibility is a concern.
Registration will be confirmed with full payment. Please note fees are non-refundable, unless your spot can be filled by a waitlisted student. Cancellations by student will be credited and can be applied to another workshop or to purchase artwork. Classes 10 AM- 4PM. Class size is limited to 8 students for personalized attention. A minimum of four students is required to run classes.
*Students are required to bring two to three 8x10” cradled panels, or these can be purchased for a nominal fee from instructor.

Shary’s studio is fully equipped with all workshop supplies* including: encaustic medium, mixed media materials, inks, oil sticks, pastels, photographs, embellishments, tools, equipment, and more, as required.
